PNAU Live in Newcastle 

This was one of the most difficult band shoots I have done for a long time… there is nothing worse for a live music photographer than poor stage lighting… considering how big PNAU is on the Australian dance scene (and the fact I have seen them play many times before with amazing visuals), I was expecting fantastic lighting…. this was not to be… only very poor back lighting was available an a very frustrating shoot was had… Luckily the music more than made up for it!

Usher ‘OMG’ Tour… March 22, 2011

I am not a pop music fan but jumped at the chance to photograph Usher. It is not every day that you get to shoot someone as famous as he is and it was definitely an awesome experience.

The allocated ‘first three songs’ went by in what felt like the blink of an eye… it was sensory overload… between the backup dancers, pyrotechnics and the unbelievable lighting… to the man himself who can both sing and dance like no other… this will go down as one of my favourite gig shoots to date… pure fun.

Playground Weekender 2011

Every year, some 15000 punters make the journey to Del Rio in Wisemans Ferry for the annual Playground Weekender Festival. Playground is a festival like no other… close to Sydney, 4 days of camping, fantastic lineup every year (this year we were treated to the likes of Lamb, Tricky, Cut Copy, Kool and The Gang and many, many more)  as well as countless DJs, swimming in the river or dancing in the resort pools while LTJ Bukem is ripping an amazing set. Playground attracts one of the best festival crowds known… and Saturday is known as Fancy Dress Day…. Everyone puts so much effort into their costumes and the party atmosphere is electric…. I have been lucky enough to photograph Playground 2 years now…. cannot wait for a third…
